Selling into the UK from overseas usually comes down to one practical problem: your stock is on the wrong side of a border from your customers. The Fulfilment Centre solves the UK-side half of that problem — receiving goods once they've cleared into the UK, storing them properly, and dispatching to UK ecommerce customers with UK delivery times rather than international ones.

The typical flow starts with your supplier or overseas warehouse shipping goods towards the UK, whether that's a full container from a manufacturer or a smaller air freight consignment. Once those goods have been imported and cleared UK customs, they can be delivered to one of our sites — Ipswich is well placed for anyone routing through Felixstowe, Heathrow suits air freight, and we also operate at Brentwood in Essex and Commercial Road in London.

From there it's standard warehouse process: goods-in checks against your paperwork, put-away, and stock live in our system ready to fulfil orders from your UK Shopify store, Amazon UK, eBay UK or wholesale customers. Because the stock is already sitting in the UK, dispatch to your UK customers happens on UK timescales rather than adding international transit on top of every single order.

It's important to be clear about where our role starts and stops. We handle the UK warehousing, storage and dispatch side of your operation. Customs clearance, import duty, VAT registration, importer-of-record obligations and product compliance requirements are matters that depend on your own business structure, country of origin and product category — The Fulfilment Centre does not act as your importer of record, and we'd always recommend getting specific advice on your customs and tax position from a qualified adviser or your freight forwarder.
